"The State of Ohio Coshocton County"
"Called Court of Common Pleas November 22, 1836"
"Eliza Metham & Henry Yonker Executors of the Estate of Pren Metham"
"Be it remembered that now to wit: at a called court of common pleas for said county, to wit on the twenty-second day of November in the year or our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty six. The last will and testament of Pren Metham was produced to the court, which reads in the words following to wit."

"I leave unto my beloved wife all my household furniture and all the cows and heifers and the house she now lives in to have and to hold as long as she remains my widow. And the place to be rented out and a sufficient portion allotted to her to maintain her and the children till the youngest becomes of age. I leave to my son Henry and his children two hundred acres of land of the west side by him paying two hundred dollars to the girls. And I leave my son William and his heirs two hundred acres of the land south side by his paying two hundred dollars when he comes of age to the girls. And I leave my son Pren the rest of my land and his heirs by his paying the girls two hundred dollars a year for three years when he comes of age. The aforesaid sum to be laid out in land to be divided equally among all my daughters and for each of them to hold during their natural life time and then to descend to their children, and if any one of the aforesaid children should die without an heir the proceeds shall be equally divided among the rest. And I wish for Henry Yonker and Henry Metham to lay out the aforesaid to the best advantage. And whatever sum from the rent of the place to give each girl a hundred dollars in rotation. All except Emily and she is to have a new saddle. And if No. 8 will sell for twenty five hundred dollars before Henry comes of age to be sold and laid out in land and him to have two hundred acres out of the land that bought inclusive of paying the two hundred dollars and the balance of the land to be equally divided among the girls and my personal property to be sold to pay all my just debts as soon as convenient. This 30th day of September 1836."

- Petition For Dower
Oct 1838 - Eliza Metham vs. Henry Yonker, et al. Petition for Dower. Filed 4-23-1838. Pren Metham at his death was seized of
estate of inheritance in 3rd quarter; township 5, range 8 near White Woman Run--96 acres NW corner of Darbys tract, 76 acres in 8, 163
acres in lot 9, 118 acres in lot 10, also Island set in middle of White Woman River at No 9 and 1, deed to Pren Metham by deed dated 3-15-1821
and recorded in Book 8, page 36 and 362 by Wm Dell and Hannah. That Pren Metham left will probated 9-30-1836. Pren Metham dec'd died 11-12-1826 [sic].
Widow, Eliza Metham. Heirs: Emily formerly Metham, wife of Henry Yonker, Mary Metham aged 24 years, Margaret Metham aged 22 years, Henry Metham aged 16
years, Eliza Ann Metham aged 14 years, William Metham aged 12 years, Charlotte Louisa Metham who died in fall of 1837 intestate as a minor, Pren Metham
aged 8 years, Caroline Metham aged 7 years and Josephine Metham aged 3 years. (info taken from Coshocton County, Ohio Common Pleas Court Records 1838-40)
