"Mrs. A.D. Fitch Dies In Topeka At 86 Years"

"Ada Curtis Fitch, 86, former resident of Frankfort, died August 19, 1962, in a hospital in Topeka, where whe had resided since January 1960 at the Methodist Home for the Aged.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, at the chapel in the home at Topeka. and(sic) at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Frankfort Methodist church.  The Rev. W.E. Van Patten, Westmoreland, officiated for the services, with buriel following in the Frankfort cemetery.

Ada Estella Curtis was born May 7, 1876, near Stafford, Ohio, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A.L. Curtis.  The family moved to Kansas when she was 12 years of age and she grew to womanhood on a farm west of Frankfort.

She married to Austin Daniel Fitch December 19, 1895, and lived on a farm northeast of Frankfort until they retired in 1946 to a home in Frankfort.  They became the parents of three sons and three daughters.  Mr. Fitch died in September, 1959 and one son, Reamy, died in July, 1957.  Two brothers, Reamy Curtis and  Clarence Curtis, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Albert Fitch, Wichita and Fred Fitch, Pheonix, Ariz.; three daughters, Ms. Cornelia Turner, Topeka; Mrs. Marguerite Feldhausen, Plattsmouth, Neb. and Mrs. Marie Culver, Madison; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Curtis, Frankfort; a niece, Mrs. Frances Ames, Wellington; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren."
