"Funeral Service Friday at Federated Church at 2 o'clock"
"Mrs. Oscar Fitch, 82, a former prominent Placerville resident and the mother of Dr. O.P. Fitch, died on Wednesday morning at Los Angeles. Her death followed an illness of several years.
The funeral services will be in Placerville on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Federated Church. The Rev. J. W. Hoyt will have charge and will be assisted in the service by Mrs. Lena Rantz and Albert S. Fox, who will sing.
Burial will be in Union cemetery in a plot beside the grave of her late husband.
Mrs. Fitch was a native of Boston. For about twenty years up to about 1926, she made her home in Placerville and took an active part in community life. She was an earnest and sincere member of the congregation of the Presbyterian church.
On moving to Los Angeles five years ago, she transferred her church membership and continued a devout and active church member until failing health forced her retirement.
Mrs. Fitch is survived by one son, Dr. O.P. Fitch, who formerly practiced in Placerville and who for the past several years has been located in Los Angeles. Dr. Fitch and family planned to be in Placerville Friday for the Services.
Pall bearers for the services will include the following, Abe Darlington, Perry Tracy, Max Baer, Fred Rohlfing, J.W. Caswell and James A. Irving."
