Death of Mrs. Blay

"Mrs. Mattie Blay of 546 Bryant street, Weir's addition, died Sunday, July 17, of paralysis, at the age of 38 years, after an illness of seven weeks.

Deceased was born in Illinois, January 5, 1866, and was married in the same state 23 years ago to Mr. James Blay. They afterwards went to Dodge City, Kan, to live and came to Denver from that place 15 years ago. She was a member of the Daughters of Liberty and during her long residence in West Denver had aquired a large circle of friends, as was attested by the numerous floral tributes.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the residence, Rev. J.W. Huston officiating. After singing "Nearer My God to Thee," the remains were laid to rest in Fairmont cemetery.

Besides her husband the survivors are six children - Mrs. Robert Johns of Leadville, who was present at the funeral, Mrs. Frank Boyd of West Denver, Melvina, William, Harry and Frank Blay, also a brother, Frank Morris and a sister in Carlinsville, Ill."

We have a copy of the above obituary, but don't know in what paper it appeared.
