"Mrs. Bessie Yunker, 68, formerly of Assumption, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 17th, in the Centralia hospital, where she had undergone a major operation a few weeks ago. However, she had been dismissed and was recuperating at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vera Phelps, when she took a sudden turn for the worse and was returned to the hospital Wednesday evening.
She is survived by eight children: Mrs. Vera Phelps, Centralia; Mrs. Bernice Manley and Mrs. Maxine Turntine, Assumption; Marvin Yunker, Los Angeles, Calif; Lowell Yunker, Casper, Wyo.; Mrs. Edna Gordon, Shelbyville; Mrs. Reatha Willett, Ferguson, Mo., and Mrs. Margaret Sharrett, Lawrenceville.
The body will be brought to Assumption but funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time."
