"Margaret Jane Yunker, was born February 11, 1877 in Fayette County, Ill., and passed away Saturday September 16, 1919* at 7:00 p.m. at the Wesley oHspital(sic) in Oklahoma City following an operation which her weakened condition could not withstand and at the early age of Forty-two years, six months and twenty-five days she went to that great beyond bearing the same sweet smile that always won for her the love and admiratio(sic) of those with whom she chanced to meet.
She was united in marriage to C.A. Stanley January 21, 1897 at Shelbyville, Illinois, where they resided until April 1905 when they removed to Kingfisher, Oklahoma, where they have since resided. Seven children were born to this union, one son dying in infancy. The surviving children Letha, Iona, Carl, Dale, Emil and Velma together with her husband, two brothers, Richard and Lyman Yunker of Windsor Illinois, and sister, Mrs. Ed Stretch of El Reno were at her bedside when death came. With these she leaves a father, mother, three other brothers, another sister with a host of others relatives and friends to mourn her early demise.
At the age of fourteen years she united with the Methodist church and was a faithful member until her removal to Oklahoma when she transferred her membership to the Congregational church at Alpha and has been a constant worker in church ...(unreadable)...her neighborhood since. She was always found at her place in Sunday School teaching a class of small children who were present at her funeral in a body and who will never forget the sweet sunny disposition and the many loving acts of kindness bestowed upon them by their friend and teacher. Her greatest pleasure was in doing good for others and she was never happier than when surrounded by her family and friends. Truly she will be missed greatly; always an ideal chistian wife and mother living in the hearts of her husband and children; a faithful member of the Alpha Aid Society and Royal Neighbor Lodge of Kingfisher and with her kind and loving disposition, many are the impressions left by this noble hearted woman and it is with saddened heart that we bid farewell to all that is mortal of one we loved so well.
Funeral services were conducted from the Congregational church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Warren and interment made in Kingfisher cemterey. The Royal Neighbors conducted a short service at the grave and also acted as pall bearers."
