"John Wills Younker, 95, of ... (address intentionally deleted), Centralia, died yesterday at 10:45 p.m. at Odin Care Center.
He was born in Shelby County, son of John James and Mary Belle (Younger) Younker. In 1907 he married Martha Iona Salmons in Shelbyville and she died in 1967. In 1970 he married Lydia Stout Duff in Centralia.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia; a son, James Younker Sr. of ... (address intentionally deleted), Centralia; two stepsons, John Duff of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Richard Duff of California; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Branch of Beckemeyer, Betty Huckelberry of Redondo Beach, Calif., and E. Patricia Kuhn of Centralia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Younker retired 30 years ago as a carman for the Burlington Railroad. He lived in Centralia most of his life and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the Couples Sunday School Class and the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America Local 758.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Phillippe and Rev. David Hargrave officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Luer Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Sunday and until 10 a.m. Monday, then at the church from 11 a.m. until the services."
