- "Mr. Daniel Melchoir, Mrs. Leah Melchoir, John V. Melchoir, Martha J. Melchoir, Henrietta L. Melchoir, Mrs. Margaret C. McCummins, Miss Ila Catherine Melchoir, Victor Theos. Melchoir,
George Daniel Melchoir, Milus Houltshouser, Mrs. Mary E. Houltshouser, Mrs. Elenor Lavinia Thomas, Mr. M. Jay Houltshouser, and Mrs. Margaret L. E. Troutman, a total
of seventeen Lutherans became dissatisified with the doctrines and usages of the Lutheran Church as taught and practiced at St. Michael's and obtained certificates of membership, and with several
members of the Presbyterian Church, organized a Presbyterian Congregation at Troutman's according to the rules of that denomination on 14 Mar 1885. Rev. P.P. Winn was their first pastor."
