"Mrs. Wesley Zeitz, assisted by Mrs. Bert Jackson and Mrs. Eva Smock, entertained the Baptist Missionary Society Wednesday afternoon, devotions being led by Mrs. James Bilyeu, and prayer offered by Mrs. Carl Armstrong. A mission story was told by Mrs. Minnie Carsell. During the social hour, prizes were won by Mrs. Carsell and Mrs. Armstrong. The hostesses served refreshments."

"Seeking to Aid Aged Couple to Regain Shelter"
"Moweaqua, Aug. 1 - Interested persons are seeking to help Ben Allison, aged seventy-eight years, and his sister, Miss Ella Allinson(sic), aged seventy-three years, to regain shelter in the little home which was partially destroyed by fire a few days ago, and for whose damage there is no insurance. Mr. Allison is unable to work both because of his years and his crippled condition. Miss Allison tries to take in enough washing to help eke out the asistance(sic) furnished by the ocunty, but for some time she has been able to secure but one washing, for which she received $1.
If the lumber can be procured and material for plastering, men have promised to donate their services in the way of labor. It is planned to roof and plaster three rooms, and to equip a fourth in such a way that it will be suitable for washings.
Some money already has been secured, and those caring to assist these elderly persons who cannot assist themselves, may leave their gift with W.I. Bridgewater, Mrs. Wesley Zeitz or at the Ayars's State bank."

"Mrs. Minnie Carsell entertained seventeen members of the Baptist Missionary Society Wednesday afternoon. The devotions were led by Miss Luella Zeitz, and Mrs. Phillilp Johnson gave a biographical sketch of John H. Payton. The society will hold a birthday service in the church Sunday evening, and the Junior B. Y.P.U. will present a playlet. Refreshments were served."

"Moweaqua - The largest class ever graduated from Moweaqua high school will graduate May 30 when forty-one will receive their diplomas at the commencement which will be held in the high school gym.

"Louise Howard and Hester Zeitz Brides"
"Moweaqua - The secret marriage of Miss Louise Howard to Tom Stewart Dec. 27, 1929, at South Bend, Ind., and the secret marriage of Hester Zeitz to Dauine(?) Adamson Feb. 7, 1930, at Danville were announced at the bridge party given at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the Hotel Drew by Misses Oneta Snock, Mary Cutler and Virginia Mae Netcals.
Mrs. Stewart is a graduate of the Moweaqua high school with the class of 1927 and a graduate of Normal. She taught the third grade in the Moweaqua schools during the last year. Mr. Stewart is a graduate of the Moweaqua high school with the class of 1927 and attended Millikin university. He is employed with the Wabash near South Bend, Ind. For the present Mr. and Mrs. Stewart will live at the Hotel Drew but will later go to Florida to make their home.

Mrs. Adamson attended the Moweaqua high school and has been employed at the Hotel Drew. Mr. Adamson is a graduate of the Moweaqua high school and is engaged in the hardware business with his father D. A. Adamson. Mr. and Mrs. Adamson will make their home in Moweaqua.
Twenty-eight were present at the bridge. Out-of-town guests were: Misses Ruth Miller of Greenfield, Evelyn Mathias of Decatur, Maud Carroll of Decatur and Ruth Day of Decatur and Mrs. Hazel Craoss of Michigan.
A pink and white color scheme was used. Miss Dorothy Gregory won high score and Mrs. Harold Wilcox low."

"Shower-Program for Recent Bride"
"Moweaqua - Mrs. J.W. Zeitz gave a miscellaneous shower in honor of Mrs. Duane Adamson Thursday afternoon in the home of Mrs. D.A. Adamson. About fifty guests were present. The house was decorated with baskets of roses.
The following program was enjoyed: Piano selection, Miss Doris Patterson; vocal solo, Neva May Moss; piano selection, Mrs. Glenn Gregory; vocal solo, "I Love You," by Mrs. Phillip Johnson. Contests were also enjoyed, first prize being won by Miss Anna Snyder, second by Mrs. Tour Stewart.
The bride received many beautiful and useful gifts. Out of town guests were Mrs. Ray Snyder and Mrs. Melvin Bateman of Decatur and Mrs. Glenn Barber of Stonington. Lovely refreshments were served."

"Miss Nora Scharear and Merle Zeitz were married in Taylorville Saturday. They were accompanied by Mr. And Mrs. Charles Burdick."
"Mrs. Andrew Wade and son Harold of Shelbyville are visiting the former's brother, Wes Zeitz and family this week."
"Herman Zeitz, son of Mr. And Mrs. August Zeitz, is seriously ill in a Detroit hospital. Mr. Zeitz underwent an operation for appendicitis and fears for his recovery are entertained."
"Mrs. J.W. Zeitz has received word of the death of her uncle, W.M. Armstrong of Houston, Texas, but formerly of Decatur. Death occurred on Sept. 16, and was due to an apoplectic seizure. The funeral services were observed Sunday, Sept. 18.
